Who is responsible for your information
Legal Counsel, trading as Legal Advice for Half the Price, West Sussex, is the controller of the personal information you send through this site. Contact: hello@legal-advice.co.
What I collect
- The name you give (any name is fine) and your email address.
- What you tell me about your problem, including any dates and amounts.
- If you book a session: the documents you send, and payment details needed to take payment.
Your message may include sensitive information, such as details of your health, finances or a dispute. Only include what you're comfortable sharing. By sending it, you're asking me to use it to answer your question.
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why I use it
- To read your question and reply to it. The lawful basis is your request (taking steps at your request) and, for sensitive information, your explicit consent in sending it.
- To provide and take payment for a paid session (performance of a contract).
- To keep basic records in case of a later complaint or claim (legitimate interests and legal obligations).
I don't sell your information, share it with marketers, or send you marketing emails.
Who else handles it
The form is delivered by Formspree, and the site is hosted by Netlify. Both are based in the United States and process data under contracts that include the UK's approved safeguards for international transfers. My email provider stores the messages we exchange.
How long I keep it
Messages and replies are kept for 12 months after our last contact, then deleted. Records of paid sessions are kept for 6 years for tax and legal reasons. You can ask me to delete your messages sooner, and I will unless I need to keep something by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict how I use it. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@legal-advice.co. I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
